Mission Statement

To assist seekers in developing a personal and intimate relationship with God through Christ Jesus, guided by the Holy Spirit.

Ministry Model Description

In his book, The Purpose-Driven Church, Rick Warren identified the five major purposes for the church: evangelism, missions, fellowship, discipleship and worship. We have adopted those five purposes as our corporate purpose statement. The image above shows how each of these ministry areas relate to our strategy for church growth. In addition to church growth, we are equally concerned about the growth of the "kin-dom of God", a term coined by Ada Maria Isasi-Diaz in her book Mujerista Theology. This term encapsulates our perspective that God's relationship with God's creation is more like a family than a dictatorship.

Our philosophy begins with our work on the outside of the proverbial walls of the church. Thus, our external ministries are designed to introduce and persuade people to develop an intimate and personal relationship with God through Christ Jesus guided by the Holy Spirit. We do this through Evangelism (sharing the message of good news about Christ Jesus) and Missions (living out our commitment to be the ambassadors of God's love in the earth). In other words, we are preaching and reaching. We are unconditionally helping people excel in life while attributing our own empowerment to our relationship with Christ. We want the world to know that empowered living is possible for them too.

We realize that preaching and reaching may not be sufficient to convince a person that our church is concerned about their personhood and well-being. We must begin the process of building relationships through Fellowship. We consider people that we have been evangelized or helped by our ministry as a person in transition into a deeper spiritual growth environment. Thus, our transitional ministries creates the perfect bridge for those whom God has touched by our words and actions. Because the Administration of the church touches every aspect of the ministry, it is appropriate to include it as a ministry of transitions. A strong, integrous administration sets the stage for our ministry operations to be done in the spirit of excellence.

Finally, the spiritual growth environment is established in Worship (creating the environment for people to experience God) and in Discipleship (empowering people with knowledge and wisdom to live a spiritually mature, Christ-centered life). This we do through our internal ministries.

Our Vision

At LFCC, we envision a world where God is glorified, praised and worshiped; relationships are strong and established on trust and commitment; love and respect are the primary driving forces of all behavior; differences are stepping stones to stronger communities and not the stumbling blocks themselves; and faith is a living force that produces good for all.
